Dr Luca Garrè is a Principal Researcher in the Climate Action Programme at DNV GL.
He is an expert on structural reliability modelling and risk analysis, with a focus on adaptation decision making. Garrè holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Genoa. In the course of his career Garrè has carried out research in different institutions, including the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim; the University of California, Berkeley; and the Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen; and held various positions including lecturer, mentor, and postdoctoral and research appointments. Since joining DNV GL, Garrè has been progressively involved in adaptation to climate change, assessment of impacts of climate extremes and support to adaptation decision making. Today, Garrè takes part in the activities associated with climate and impact modelling and adaptation assessments, as well as their commercial implementations.
